Dainese is an Italian company that specialises in protective wear for sports such as motorcycling, mountain biking and downhill skiing. The company was founded by its current President, Leno Dainese, in 1972. Dainese offers both an 'off-the-shelf' and a 'made to measure' service. This of course means that there is an opening for a variety of styles as well as prices. The majority of the 'leathers' are handmade and employ exotic materials, such as Carbon Fiber and Titanium. It's been using its racing sponsorship program to research and develop new innovations. Through 2008 and 2009, Dainese has debuted, through its sponsored rides in MotoGP, an airbag suit. The suit has an airbag integrated into the leather one-piece suit, which inflates around the neck and shoulders once the suit's internal microprocessor detects a crash.
